  • Adams County was originally part of Arapahoe County, as was Denver County. On November 15, 1902 Adams County was officially it's own county.
  • According to the United States Census Bureau Adams County population was estimated at 414,338 in 2006. This is a 13.87% increase since the 2000 U.S. Census.
  • Adams County was created in 1902. Before 1902 this area was part of Arapahoe County.
  • In November 8, 1904, Brighton was chosen as the permanent county seat. In honor of this a new courthouse was built at 4th and Bridge Street. The building still stands today.
  • In a 2000 census the median income for a household in Adams County was $47,323, and the median income for a family was $52,517.
  • Of all of the counties in Colorado Adams County is the fifth most populous.
  • Adams County has become one of the fast growing counties in Colorado.
  • The county was named for Gov. Alva Adams.
  • Adams County is one of 64 counties in Colorado.
  • The first railroad depot in Adams County was named Hughes after the first president of the railroad.
